Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Render Services, Inc., 525 Brannan Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website, the hosting provider automatically processes data transmitted by your browser in order to deliver the site and keep it running securely:

• IP address
• Date and time of access
• Page or file requested
• Browser type and version, operating system
• Referrer URL (the previously visited page)

Legal basis for server log files

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a technically flawless and secure way.

Transfer to the USA

Render is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is therefore covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR).

Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

My mailbox is operated by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The data is stored there in data centers within the EU. I delete your message once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services.

Local storage of your accessibility settings

If you change settings in the accessibility menu (e.g. text size or reduced motion), they are stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) so they persist on your next visit. This data never leaves your device. You can remove it at any time via “Reset to defaults” in the menu or by clearing the site data in your browser.

Fonts

All fonts are served directly from this website. No connection is made to third-party servers (such as Google Fonts).

Links to social networks

The home page links to my profiles on GitHub and LinkedIn. These are plain links, not embedded plugins: only when you click a link are you taken to the respective provider, whose own privacy policy then applies.
